Hey guys, so recently I went to see "Son of God" in theaters. There's been a lot of hype over this movie, so I thought I'd give you the inside scoop.
All things considered, this was an overall good movie. But there were still quite a few problems. First of all, I loved the actor who played Jesus, but when my youth pastor and I were comparing, he told me that Jesus didn't really look attractive at all, even before the crucifixion, I added that to my strikes. Also among them is that some of the stories were not in chronological order. Now I realize that the Gospels are everywhere, but even then you can pick out a basic timeline in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. A third among them is that even with the stories themselves, they have put Scriptures where they originally not.
Even with their failings, the movie was still good. It had a good story, THE good story, and even with the stories out of order, it still provided entertainment for the kids in my youth group. We also got an idea for our next two trips: Winterjam, which I reviewed later, and “God’s Not Dead”, which we will be going to see in a few weeks, on Spring Break. I will definitely bring you guys a review on that. But back to “Son of God”.
The movie was great, the actors were great, with the exception of Jesus’s looks, and provided a good time for the youth group. When I get to church tonight, we are going to talk about our experience. I cant wait! Oh, and if you guys want something to do in the summer, consider Arkansas youth camp. This camp is also amazing, with speakers coming from all around the country. They have amazing food, good worship, go-carts, swimming, and just all around great Christian fun. I’ll see you guys next week, and have an amazing week.
